Party and quiz games either need everyone to install an app, or cap out at a handful of players, or both. Getting 30 people at a braai into the same game should take seconds, not a download-and-signup ritual.
The approach
A host screen shows a QR code; phones scan it and become controllers instantly in the browser. Each room is a Cloudflare Durable Object coordinating game state over WebSockets, which is what lets 50 phones stay in sync without a dedicated game server. Fifteen games run on the same room infrastructure.
The outcome
Live and publicly playable. A full room — join, play, scores on the big screen — works with zero installs and one QR code.
